THE PET TALES / THE DETAILS
Accessibility
Designed around text and native controls
The toolkit uses semantic headings, explicitly labelled fields, keyboard-operable buttons, visible focus styles, native disclosure sections and text-based results. No meaning relies on a photograph, colour swatch, animation, dragging gesture or audio. The interface is designed to work on small screens, but no accessibility certification or universal compatibility claim is made.
Keyboard use
Use Skip to content to reach the main area. Tab moves through controls; Enter or Space activates buttons and FAQ summaries. All Tools opens a list of six direct links and a View all tools link. Escape closes navigation disclosures. Generating a result moves focus to its heading region, and validation messages identify input problems.
Reading, mobile and print
Content reflows into a single column on narrow screens. Tool results remain text you can zoom, select, download or print. Any wide plan table is placed in a labelled, keyboard-focusable horizontal scrolling region. Print / Save PDF removes navigation and input forms so the result is easier to keep. Printing, PDF and email-app dialogs are partly controlled by your device.
Known boundaries
Date controls, browser validation, local file downloads and external email applications may differ across browsers or assistive technology. JavaScript is required to generate results, but informational pages and the navigation remain readable without it. Additional WordPress themes or plugins can affect accessibility and should be tested on staging.
Report a barrier
Prepare an Accessibility enquiry through Contact. Describe the page, the task, the control and what blocked progress. Browser and assistive-technology details may help but are optional; do not include personal or veterinary information. The operator should review reports and continue testing after site updates. No response-time guarantee is made.
